In birthday celebration of the late
Boris Karloff, I thought it would be fitting to post a radio version of a show Boris Karloff made famous on Broadway.
Arsenic and Old Lace made it's stage debut in 1941. He played the part of Jonathan Brewster, the black sheep of the family who returns home to hide away from the law, as he has killed a dozen men. The description the police have on him is that he looks like "Boris Karloff."
Arsenic and Old Lace came to the silver screen in 1944 and starred
Cary Grant as Mortimer Brewster,
Raymond Massey playing Karloff's part of Jonathan Brewster, and
Peter Lorre as Dr. Einstein.
